Dom Perignon x Andy Warhol

Synonymous with the very best taste, and synonymous with the very best creative, the Design Laboratory at Central Saint Martin's School of Design has designed an exclusive three bottle range paying tribute to Dom Pérignon and Andy Warhol. It perfectly coincides with a quote from Warhol's diary, dated March 8 1981, that says "we had to go back to the hotel and be picked up by the “2,000” people - it’s a club of twenty guys who got together and they’re going to buy 2,000 bottles of Dom Pérignon which they will put in a sealed room until the year 2000 and then open it up and drink it and so the running joke is who will be around and who won’t…”
I'd love to know who was in that group and who was around in 2000 to enjoy those 2,000 bottles of Dom Pérignon. These colourful bottles are a stellar result of Warhol's iconic colours, applied in an eye catching and visually effective way. I can hear the champagne flowing and the colourful games playing out. Pop.

Australian Model Watch

Miranda Kerr left some sizable shoes to fill when she announced that she wouldn't be appearing in the David Jones Spring Summer launch yesterday. But those shoes were rightly filed by some of Australia's most successful supermodels. Nicole Trunfio, Abby Lee, Catherine McNeil, Alexandra Agoston, Samantha Harris and Stephanie Carta all took their turn on the DJ's catwalk showcasing Australia's most talented designer. These faces are more associated with Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Chanel and Karl Lagerfeld to name a few so it's wonderful to see their support for the local industry that discovered them.

Lee Matthews

When Lee Matthews is having a sale, those who love the feminine aesthetic of the Newport designer stand and take notice. Her sale's are generally always a winner but hearing that this Friday 6th and Saturday 7th, nothing will be over $50 is a combination that really can't go wrong. The sale will take place at Suite G01/50 Marshall St, Surry Hills 2010 (Cnr Prospect and Marshall St) and will be open from 9.30am - 5.30pm.

Jessica Biel

Alright, alright, alright. I get it, maybe I need to move on from my appreciation for Jessica Biel's style. But she really is getting it right most of the time. There's evidently some more daring looks from the famously athletic star, looks that we might not dream of daring to wear. But when she gets it right, she really gets it right. I'd love to know who's styling her, because they're never giving us something predictable.
Take for example this Atelier Versace blue dress. It's been altered without the tulle fishtail underskirt and the result couldn't be more dramatic or sophisticated if it tried.
Carryong on with the soft blue tones and a mix of grey and neutrals, her Oscar De La Renta outfit is perfect for day. This is one look that perhaps ages her only slightly, but it's still fun and summery, and highlights her fabulous shape.
Her more nautical 3.1 Phillip Lim ensemble is also a step away from what she's been experimenting with lately.
And only this toned and womanly figure could looks so fine in a jumpsuit, sometimes life just really isn't fair. She has the confidence to carry it perfectly.
When she's pulling out all stops though, sheer red with relaxed hair and make-up wins the day. From top to toe, Biel is feminine and strong in this showstopping gown, and to top it all off, she doesn't even look like she's trying. That, my friends, is an inspiration.

David Jones Spring Summer Launch

Clouded by Miranda Kerr's exit and former CEO Mark McInnes sexual misconduct lawsuit, David Jones launched their Spring Summer Collections, business as usual today. Grave fears for a general backlash as a response from women in response to the lawsuit is perhaps no longer causing a problem, considering the resounding support from Australian Designers and David Jones' ability to move forward past the storm. It's certainly damaging behaviour from the former CEO, however, that is not a reflection of the iconic retailer's philosophy and hopefully, they continue to lead the forefront of department stores in Australia.
Megan Gale is fresh faced and smiling, her happiness is infectious on the red carpet. As is that of Sass & Bide's Sarah-Jane Clarke. Nicky and Simone Zimmermann have long been associated with David Jones, and Tigerlily designer Jodhi Meare's is also looking more comfortable in front of the camera's again. It great to see such strong support for a company that's encouraged and nurtured these Australian talents through hardships. The true Australian spirit.

Blanc

Whether head to toe, or simply just a splash, the northern hemisphere summer has given people a reason to beat the heat. And they're beating it with white. There's a reason the Greeks paint their building's white, the reflective effects not really having the same impact on these celebrities, they're attracting more attention than ever.
Ashley Greene finally looks her 23 years-of-age, and the thin belt is perfect to keep this summery dress light without letting it billow away from her toned frame.
Jessica Biel is also ticking all the right boxes. I love this outfit, from the sunglasses to the ballet flats. Green with envy for that skirt too. Shameful I know, but had to be said.
Kate Walsh is an inspiration in everything she chooses to wear and this outfit is no exception. She knows exactly what suits her and what she's comfortable in, stays true to her personal style and rarely puts a well heeled foot wrong. The light coloured blazer is a must for summer.
Amber Heard also selects from my favourite colour palette with this fresh summery silk slip. The white acts as a highlight and makes it the perfect dress to transform an outfit from day to night.
And only the bravest of them all could pull off such a risky and fashion forward look from Givenchy. Fearless mum, Heidi Klum manages to give this outfit personality and an aspirational spin, keeping it simple from accessories and hair, showing she's still got style.

Melbourne

Four words. Crown Metropol The Loft. There's never been quite an experience like it. The bath for starters. No words describe it's relaxing effect and it is certainly only one of the many aspects that make this loft much more than just any hotel loft. It offers stunning views over the other Crown complexes and with three plasmas and a dining room and lounge separate from the king bedroom, there's no attention to detail left unturned.
And that's just as well, because when you also have access to Level 28, Crown Metropol's exclusive bar and restaurant offering complimentary services, you know you're most definitely not missing out on any experiences. Similar to the effect that a spectacular meal at Gordon Ramsey's Maze or Maze Grill offers either. The service and food couldn't be faulted.
This certainly puts a sugar coating on the attendance of the Wallabies being beaten by the All Blacks at The Bledisloe Cup. Don't attempt to try and catch a taxi to Bouzy Rouge after the match either, grid lock dampening spirits all round. Once you're there though, the bar, the peanuts complete with shells, and the Fleetwood Mac blaring overhead sufficiently return smiles to their respective owners faces.
Hard to leave. Thanks Melbourne.
