Amidst the menswear shows in Milan, a sea of femininity rolled over on Wednesday when Valentino released their Resort 2010 collection. The beauty of the shapes created with a focus away from the body extends into a botanic reference towards something that is alive and full, even in black. It's a collection that reminded me of an unfurling rose and the deep blood red colours change through to sandy and black extensions of themselves.
Valentino has new designers in Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pier Paolo Piccioli and with the big AW10 shows only a month away, I think many of us will be waiting with all the anticipation of a rich chocolate cake fresh out of the oven.
