US Vogue September 2010

Ever striking an elegant chord, Halle Berry couldn't say no to the cover of the biggest issue of the year. For those who saw 'The September Issue', you'll know that this is the issue that covers all the latest campaigns and fashion for the biggest season. It's kind of a big deal.
Berry says in her interview that she purposely shied away from interviews for three years because she needed space. Then Vogue made her an offer she couldn't refuse. "What that means for a woman of color and what that means in the fashion world, what that means to pop culture, there was no way I could say, 'No, I'm not going to be on the biggest issue of the year.'"
Can you believe she's only the second coloured woman to grace the cover? Naomi Campbell was the first. When an election is looming on our own soil, we're all questioning the civil rights of many under recognised members of society. Only time will tell. But it's interesting to note that we're still living in a world where equality hasn't quite caught up to speed.
Describing her beautiful relationship with her daughter Nahla, and proving that there was no other beauty that could have been more appropriate for the cover story for this monumental issue, there's proof in the pudding. You can read the whole article here.
Halle Blueberries has a nice ring to it.
