Paris Fashion Week SS10

Why must all good things come to an end? It's like finishing another block of incredibly satisfying chocolate... You always remember that sweet taste, knowing how good it was to eat at the time but that if you continued to eat it, your body would eventually scream at you to stop. Day Seven of Paris Fashion Week feels a little like that. We've experienced a month long of the best the fashion world has to offer, we know what's going to be hot or not next summer, but it had to stop some time.
All those who remember the galaxy dress from a couple of years ago say I... Well he's relaxed his style a little since then, but Roland Mouret is still right on the money when it comes to his interesting mix of colour, shape, proportions and textures. It's in the small details tucks at the waist that set his designs apart from the others, creating a very flattering figure, and his colours are a little left of the middle like a breath of fresh air.
Always a favourite is Miu Miu, but this season their mash of prints and textures left me hanging onto the beauty of last AW09 season. Although it appears I wasn't as nostalgic as Marc Jacobs for Louis Vuitton. I was so blinded by the 'fro I found it had to concentrate on the 70's inspired clothes. Hoove like shoes may not exactly take off either, but I've learnt to never say never. Have fun fashion editor's.
Jean-Paul Gaultier was game set and match at Hermes and introduced a fine vintage in Eva Herzigova serving first. Elie Saab's lost his bling but boy was there blue and black in spades... And finally, our very own Collette Dinnigan saw out the shows. This year marks the 20th anniversary of her buisness, and 15 seasons showing at invitation only Paris Fashion Week. Her story probably didn't evolve enough as the show was a little light on looks, with many short stories in prints and themes introduced one at a time. Some of her more continuous looks that she's famous for every season could have tied this collection together in a big sparkling bow.
I'll have another piece of chocolate please, my favourite Lindt dark roasted almond will do.
