Paris AW10 | Day Five

There's a sense that all is well again at Sonia Rykiel, who's downsized shows the previous two season never dampened smiles on models faces, but who clearly relished being able to show again at a more grand scale.
Hussein Chalayan also took great measures to produce the mens jacket for women at a larger scale too, who knew it could double as a dress? Now the focus has shifted from Carrie Bradshaw's take on the humble white shirt, men's wardrobes everywhere are about to loose another staple item.
Karl Lagerfeld kept things tight and fitted, peplum the order of the day. Waists were emphasized and colours were of the blue, gray and black variety. Slick and sharp the only words appropriate in this case.
The cogs turning over in mastermind John Galliano's brain should be studied in a lab like environment. Spectacular proportions getting the show started grew gracefully into another form of showmanship all together when he added fur to the seams of chiffon gowns. Animal activists will be turning in their graves, but it's a new idea all the same.
And over at Costume National, it was all very simple and minimal. There's a solid fan base out there who will rejoice in the garments put forward, however little imagination went into creating them.
