Paris AW10 | Day Seven

Precision perfect systems were in place at Valentino, where the ultimate formula was applied to the approach to designing this collection. Introducing colour and surface development from a white introduction, little details brought this collection to life.
Things took a very clean lined approach at Chloe though, where pants and denim shirts, overcoats and a more masculine feel took over. There were still elements of over sized dresses that this fashion house is famous for, but it was the one piece body suited and wide leg jumpsuits that might really take off this season.
When woollie mammoths of the Chanel variety still make a fashionable statement, we really need to reflect on what it's all about. But I have to say, intrinsically embedded behind all the fur was a sophisticated and well thought through collection. When the two tone boots and tweed twin sets stand on their own, this Chanel show provides insight into every aspect of the inspiration through to execution.
Wunderkind went all tribal twee on us too, conflicting non? But with both womenswear and menswear on show, the story came together and the use of interesting silhouettes, fabrics and colours led to an overall success.
And I never thought I'd have to write something like this, but here is Alexander McQueen's final collection under his hand. The house is reportedly finding a new head designer, but this man's vision will forever be cemented in line with the words innovation, creativity and fantasy, what fashion at the end of the day is really all about. I had goosebumps while I walked through the collection. Enough said.
R.I.P Alexander McQueen.
