Carven a name for itself
Impossibly elegant and completely Parisienne, the new label to emerge from France is Carven. The sublime cuts and simple colour choices made by previous Givenchy designer, Guillaume Henry represent all that he has set out to do with this brand. He mentioned on Net-A-Porter that the philosophy behind his designs stem from a girl who's weekend contains nothing more than stylish clothes and a bare face to match.
This label first emerged as a couture house in 1945 along the Champs Elysees, and Henry took his inspiration from Madame Carven herself at age thirty, and Charlotte Gainsbourg at aged 15. Wonderfully coinciding with the Australian premier of Cougartown to start in 10 minutes (ok so you're no cougar at 30) but what a delightful anomaly, perfectly setting the pace for what is in stall for this new modern day favourite. I'll take one of everything please.
