New York AW10 | Day Three
There seems to be two trends emerging from New York Fashion Week so far. Block colours mixed back with black or other solid palettes at seams running across the body. Or there's the juxtaposed floral with a luxury homeless spin Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen made famous circa 2005 affectionately titled 'hobo chic'. At least there's variety but I know which style I'm much more happy to pursue.
Prabul Garung followed suit literally with clean lines and bold reds or yellows against a black backdrop for maximum impact.
Peter Som on the other hand, presented what looked to be a very misshaped collection, but I think it's all ultimately down to the styling. At least if many of these pieces were worn separately for day, they wouldn't denote such a thrown together scenario.
If Ohne Titel is any label to go but, we won't be emerging past black, khaki and a hint of cream.
But Lacoste certainly has that covered in case you were dehydrated for colour. It was everywhere. It's exploded in the room and there's nothing more catchy than brights on a rainy day, you might like your sunglasses to view the collection though.
Alice + Olivia also took it upon themselves to buck the solid trend and go for shabby chic at it's best. Colour in abundance kept this small collection tight knit, but the ideas are at least 10 seasons old. If that's considered vintage, I'm getting old.
