If there is a way to exude a bit of edge when you're dressing up something pretty, this is the way to do it. Emily Blunt's dark eyes and asymmetric hem all counter balance her strappy sandals and feathered hairpiece. She's toughened up her make-up as well and it's all working brilliantly.
Brooklyn Decker is currently the covergirl for this month's Sports Illustrated, and she keeps her mini in check with a fabulous trench and great mix of hues. Appearing just as comfortable all covered up as she is in her itsy bitsy teeny weeny bikini, this is the way to dress up in winter and still give the impression of sophistication.
Chloe Sevigny never puts a foot wrong, and in my perennially favourite back suede booties, I couldn't agree more that some black tights would do just the trick to give this dress the roughness it needs. She's a smart girl too, it's winter where she is and just enough is covered to keep everyone quiet.
