New York AW10 | Day Three

Shedding a whole new light on the way wool is used in very wearable daily fashion, Adam Lippes of the label ADAM took traditional cable knits and twisted the yarns into fiery colour combination's and relaxed skirting options. With a few silk maxi dresses thrown into the mix for good measure, it appears Burberry set the trend last Autumn Winter with snoods seen everywhere from ADAM, and Helmut Lang to our very own shores at Country Road.
Speaking of Helmut Lang, things took a delightful turn when bold black and cream seams highlighted the effective use of trompe l'oeil. I wasn't so sure about the spray painted digital print, and by the end of the show it evolved into a howling werewolf set for Twighlight fans a plenty. But the classic shapes that this label has laid claim to for years now certainly gave their loyal customers something to work back into their already Helmut Lang heavy wardrobes.
Autumn Winter 2010 at United Bamboo, although very wearable, didn't really give us anything that Marc Jacobs can't do better. There were shapes and buttons reminiscent of his Marc by Marc Jacobs diffusion line and to live by the old motto, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
There will be more to Day Three than we I access to at the moment, and I will bring you up to the minute reviews over the course of the shows. Enjoy your Sunday.
